I've been searching around a bit and noticed the rear passenger seats making noise and not much on the driver's seat. I find it hard to believe I'm the only one w/ the issue. My driver's seat is LOUD and I hear it over every bump and imperfection in the road. It's tough to find the time to get back to the dealer. I was just wondering when others had this issue if it was a quick fix or required ordering parts and waiting a couple of days.
Mine squeaks badly and has been looked at multiple times when in for other issues. Squeaks over bumps and when I apply the brakes due to shifting my weight.
I have a part on order to hopefully fix my heated seat, as it does not get very warm and takes up to 10 minutes to get 'hot' My service rep. said they would look further while replacing the heating element.
I call the sound a creaking. First it was just the drivers seat now both seats are doing it. It happens when going over the bumps and rough roads when the persons weight shifts in the seat.
I have fools at my dealership. Not getting anyplace.
I've had my 2014 Summit in for this issue multiple times with no fix. I plan to stay on the dealership to address the problem, so will let you know if I find a fix. I agree that if you move the seat around the squeak seems to go away for a day or two but then comes tight back.
I actually moved the seat around and adjusted it. No more sound from it, yet. I'm still going to show the dealer when I bring it for my next oil change. Nice to not have to hear it right now though.
I just noticed this same issue today on my 15' Overland. Bumps and weight shift causes the noise. Sounds like the leather is rubbing on the plastic sides by the seat controls. Tried moving the seat and it helped a little but still makes the noise.
Interested to hear what others are finding out from service dept.

If you take out some of the lumbar in the unoccupied seat it should stop. Increasing the lumbar spreads the seat out slightly. Dealer said they could not fix, it is how they are. But...another forum member loosened his seat bolts on the floor, moved slightly then re-tightened and his noise was gone. In a side note the lumbar in driver seat "creaks" when I lean forward. If I take the lumbar our it stops.
Still have a diff noise in the passenger seat now I have yet to track down.
Still haven't brought it in yet. Next oil change I'm going to mention it to them. Noise did go away when I adjusted the seat though. FWIW I don't have leather.
Mine is doing it. I can replicate every time I get in it. I watched the service manager get in and not a peep. I walked over and got in, you could clearly hear it. He called me back saying they fixed it with foam and silicone. When I went to get in, the seat was way forward and elevated. After I returned it to where I can use it.....Squeak is still there. I have 800 miles until my warranty is up, so I don't have much time.
I have a 2014 Jeep grand Cherokee that has a driver side squeaky that started after they repaired the lumbar crunching sound with movement. Now I am stuck with a squeak that they have tried to repair-the new place I have taken it to, has fixed the squeak in the upper right side but the noise has now moved to the bottom right side - I can’t win. I feel that the actual seat leather cover is ruined due to all the removing and installing after the 6 times they had to get in there to repair the lumbar area/frame -after it was finally repaired the squeaky sound started. The dealer acted like I was crazy. The place I am working with currently are cool about the whole thing and are trying to help me -especially since this was another dealers problem not theirs. If anyone else has experienced this problem and have had theirs fixed please let me know.
Got mine fixed finally. The squeak was at the support bar where you sit. When you push on the cushion you'll feel a support bar about the middle of the seat. Anyways they took it apart, bent something and "opened up" some hole (maybe where it bolts to the frame). Don't have the paperwork but that's what he told me. All I know is it feels just like the new jeep I bought almost two years ago.
