I have a 2013 Grand Cherokee and last 3,000 miles I have been experiencing terrible engine drone when it goes to eco mode. The car is completely stock minus fog lights. I have been to the dealership multiple times and they always tell me it is normal! I just hit 8,000 miles on the engine and I did not do it when I bought it. I'm so sick of this car and Chrysler in general. I need options. Anyone have any advice? And yes, I did do a search but all I could find was people with modded Jeeps.

exhaust wrap on the pipes, add additional resonators/mufflers after the middle suitcase one and put some dynomatting in the interior floor.

I should not have to do this on a stock jeep. Does anybody else have drone with no modifications? When my jeep goes to 4 cylinders is sounds like crap and I really have to get on it to go anywhere. I think I have an issue.

You are absolutely right that you shouldn't have to do anything, but you did ask for options lol. I personally didn't not have this issue with my stock exhaust on. I did however have it once I put my custom one on, and that is why I am currently in the process of changing it. MDS is a terrible thing for the sound of the exhaust ... but from what your saying, its excessive ... mind taking a video of the sound?

All Hemis drone while in MDS mode. Your only options are to live with it, buy a tuner to disable MDS, add $500-1000 in sound deadening to mask it some, or trade it for a V6. It didn't bother me when I had my Ram. Turn the radio up.

Re: drone on stock wk2

Instead of staying in "D", bump the gear selector (can't remember which way - left or right) until the Electronic Range Selector shows "6" in the EVIC - this will keep MDS off but allow the transmission to shift through all 6 gears. No need to buy a tuner to get MDS to turn off.
