Droning/vibration around 58 MPH w/ V6 in highest gear

Wondered if anyone else notices some sort of cycling low-sounding vibration at around 50 - 60 MPH. I notice it when it's in the highest gear/overdrive, with a slight incline so that I'm giving it a little more gas/accelerator. The vibration/sound repeats about once per second or every 1.5 seconds. Feels like it's coming from right under center of the Jeep.

Any ideas? Anyone else notice it?

This is happening in a V6 Pentastar 4x4.

Re: Droning/vibration around 58 MPH w/ V6 in highest gear

There's been a few similar posts on this but we haven't been able to really nail it down on anything yet. Mine does this as-well right at about 2500 RPM, I notice it frequently on my commute and it bothers me. I took it into the dealership and they said they didn't notice it and no TSBs are posted on it so they pretty much said i was crazy. I'm going to take it in again next week and try again this time driving with the service adviser.

Same issues I have. Taking mine to the dealer next Tuesday and having the technician ride with me. I'll let you know how it goes. Similar posts in "Pentastar vibration" thread.

It's not a tire or alignment issue.. It's too consistent with the speed and rpm every time you are slightly on the skinny pedal...

Maybe you are hearing/feeling a little exhaust drone making its way into the cabin?

Took mine in this week and tech said he had about 4 others with the same problem. He also says his gut feeling is that it's coming from the exhaust in front to center of vehicle, but no fixes yet.

I get that as well but it doesn't really bother me. Maybe after Im done adressing the bigger problems with mine I will mind a little more.

Re: Droning/vibration around 58 MPH w/ V6 in highest gear

There's been multiple threads on this issue, and I've reported it myself to Chrysler. I think that the consensus is that it's happening at high gear under light load, its not something that is causing any damage, and its only a minor annoyance for a small period of time in an otherwise silky-smooth engine.

Personally I suspect that it has something to do with the VVT system and can probably be fixed by tweaking the computer that controls it. Hopefully the factory will figure it out and issue a TSB.

If everyone notifies Chrysler maybe they will address this sooner.
