Ecodiesel died while driving

So I was taking off from a light, rolled from about 25-55 mph from moderate to heavy throttle. All of a sudden the "service electronic throttle, low oil pressure, and low voltage" indicators all illuminated. Lost all engine power but still had all the electric systems. Coasted to a stop in a parking lot. I tried restarting the jeep but it would just crank and crank on its own but not kick over. I checked the oil level and all was still max filled. I didn't see any leaks anywhere either. I checked the battery connections under the passenger seat and even disconnected the battery for a few minutes, but still wouldn't start. I checked for loose plugs and hoses and clamps as well. The Jeep was towed to the dealership. Anyone have any thoughts or a similar experience?

Re: Ecodiesel died while driving

how much fuel in the tank?
if <1/4, put 5 gallons diesel in tank and see if it starts
if starts, then cause is bad secondary fuel pump in tank

there are two tank pumps, one transfers fuel from secondary to primary tank. If this goes out, fuel gauge shows fuel, but not enough fuel transferring from secondary to primary tank. Two fuel tanks due to driveshaft runs between them

Re: Ecodiesel died while driving

Interesting didn't know about the two tanks. Unfortunately I have over half tank of fuel still.

What about the battery? On the 4th gen Cummins Ram the factory batteries were going out in the first two years on a lot of trucks and would cause all sorts of weird issues. Has that been seen on these WK2's?

Re: Ecodiesel died while driving

have not read much about batteries dying prematurely
early build WK2's had an issue with loose grounding wire
description was "dash lite up like a christmas tree"
doesn't sound like this is what is going on but worth searching forum

Re: Ecodiesel died while driving

I misrepresented what I said above about WK2 having two tanks
there is one tank that is composed of two compartments
both are connected with a "bridge" that allows the drive shaft to pass between the compartments. If you have the off road package you can see two separate skid plates over the tanks.
sorry not able to help much with your car issue

Re: Ecodiesel died while driving

A work colleague of mine had a similar thing happen to his 2014 Limited Diesel. He was driving it on the highway and it all of a sudden went into 'Limp mode'. It too was towed to the dealership where they replaced the particulate filter and reset the computer. Since then no issues.
