Electrical issues!!!

Hey guys I'm new to the forum hows it goin?

Well I got my wife a 2012 laredo 4X4 and the next day not even 24 hours later my windshield wipers wouldn't turn off, headlights wouldn't turn on, blinkers didn't work, all the steering wheel controls didn't work, dome lights, and ambient lighting were out too. I called the dealership they had me bring it in and replaced the steering column. Everything was working fine then I noticed my dome lights didn't work. I called back and it went in again they found a frayed wire and replaced the harness. Once again they still didn't work after replacing the harness and the whole over head console. Then they ordered a new TIPM (spell check) I guess thats like the brain? It still didn't work then they had to call the headquarters and do a system reset finally after all this they got the dome lights to work. I called Jeep and they got a case going and gave me 16 oil change, road side assistance, and a free tank of gas.

Has anyone else here had any problems like this I was thinking I was about to get a new car. I'm very happy with Jeeps and don't think I'll ever own anything else, but this specific one was seriously pissin me off lol

Re: Electrical issues!!!

I've heard of a similar issure regarding a 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland Trim 5.7L V8 4x4. It started with wipers turning on and off intermittently, along with all dashborad lights, and front lights. Main recurring problem came up being that it was no communication between the CAN-C BUS, with open and shorted circuits between both the BCM, and PCM, voltages remained the same on certain nodes of communication, with the scan tool plugged in, it detected that all the modules in communication with the PCM were in fact in communication with the CAN-B BUS, and CAN-C BUS, same with BCM. But you would have to reset the scan tool to re-intialize communications with the CAN BUS. I haven't heard much more past that. Oh and the TIPM is not the brain, it is basically were all the fuses and relays are located. Lastly, a system reset is the absolute last thing the technicians at your dealership and the engineers at jeep in michigan would do, so don't worry, this would be the first issue they heard of.
