Electronic Module under Driver Seat

Hi Everyone,

I'm really enjoying my new Limited. No problems to date. 4,000 Km (3,000 Mi). While checking the Hatch under the drivers seat I noticed that there was an electronic module located in that space and I'm not sure what it is for. Could it be an electronic brake? My Limited is fully loaded V6 with Towing and Trail Rated. In Canada the Limited comes with Power Hatch, Power Tilt/Telescope and Ventilated Seats so it's truely fully loaded. Any ideas?

Thanks

Keith

Mine is a Canadian V6 Overland Model and it looks like some type of computer. There are two modules located in the bin. No motors.

Do you have a trailer/haul button on the dash panel?

The topic of the under seat battery (passenger side), and driver's side compartment has come up before. And the items stored under the Driver's Seat was also mentioned in the Sept 8 Jeep Engineer chat session.

See this link, especially Post #32 (but you may want to read them all):

Thanks for the answers so far but I'm still baffled as to what it's for. I do not have a tow/haul switch on the dash. I haven't tried the local area network but that option was never mentioned in any of the publications which I read. I may have to break down and ask the dealer! HA!HA!
They didn't even know where the battery was at first so fat chance.
