Re: Electronic Stability Control TSB

Just cross-linking to the thread about dunecrawler's problems with 4WD in Dubai sand dunes. This TSB may be related to his fix (see his Post #72 there). If so, it would be useful for more than just the CR lane-change problem.

Nope, things like this pop up in the system would be my guess, for vehicles that meet the criteria. They did however, come ask me if I wanted it, I said go for it.

Another one popped up as well, for a leak above the overhead console. But I haven't had any leaks, so no action was taken.

Re: Electronic Stability Control TSB

I received a call from my dealer today to do the reprogram of the electronic stability control.

Re: Electronic Stability Control TSB

I did the upgrade a couple weeks ago because I was unhappy with snow performance.
I can now say that the ESC does comes on easier on snow covered ground and less tail slide.
The other thing I noticed (after someone else mentioned it) is the automatic shift from 1st to 2nd is faster. That 1st shift pause it had before when moving off slowly is definately better.
Anyway, I hope I'm not imanaging this. These changes are suttle.

Re: Electronic Stability Control TSB

I had the ESC flash done today. I can tell a difference in throttle response and shifting seems to be smoother up and down. They main reason why I wanted it was because with it there is supposed to be less wheel slippage in the snow basically cause the ESC to engage much quicker. The TSB says it applies to all vehicles with a build date prior to 30 December and all vehicles build after that date will have the update.

Re: Electronic Stability Control TSB

I dropped mine off this morning for some fit and finish fixes, and took the TSB info into them.

The service advisor just called and said that they hooked the computer up and it said "no updates available."

Is this the correct way they are supposed to do it?

edit: I have a builld date of Mid December and bought it on Jan 13. SO maybe there's a chance that the other dealership I bought it from did the update?

NM...just called the dealership i bought it from and the TSB has already been done.

Re: Electronic Stability Control TSB

The TSB sheet says it applies to every GC built before Dec. 30, 2010.

You should have the dealer verify that this TSB was applied (if not by them, then by someone else). When TSBs are done it's my understanding that there should be a sticker put somewhere on the vehicle.

Thanks Cherodude. See my edit. It had already been done.

That's the first I've heard of the sticker. Where would it be located?

Re: Electronic Stability Control TSB

As a heads up, evidently there is another recent TSB that replaces the rear shock mounts. I'll post more details tomorrow.
