Re: Emergency brake pedal rust

Dealers around here, SoFla, couldn't care less, if they do show concern the best they can do is screw up your carpet when they try and "fix it" if you find one willing to replace the entire subassembly I'll head there. In reality it's just surface rust I doubt that it will ever become anything damaging. I cleaned mine up and gave it a quick coat it doesn't look much better and I'm sure will continue to rust.
There are areas of our jeeps that I would worry much more about than the E brake pedal.

I do agree it's just surface rust and I am not to concerned. As I stated in my original post I do however find this odd and was asking if anyone else has been experiencing this.

Re: Emergency brake pedal rust

Update: Brought Jeep in for shiftier recall today also had them look at brake pedal. They sanded it and repainted pedal with gloss black rustoleum paint. Gloss black.......gimme a break! When I get time I'll repaint it with flat black.

Can we get some love for satin? We'll keep our fingers crossed for you. I'm just glad it wasn't "normal".

Glad to hear they did something. For as often as you look at it, is it even worth repainting? Maybe when it rusts again.
