Re: Engine dies while braking and turning

My Jeep just died in the middle of freeway traffic. That's the first time it died on me while going straight and not fast. This is concerning considering I've already had every single recall known to Jeep done on this 2012. I called my dealer for service and they said it'll cost $189 to have them diagnose. I said "uh, I don't think so" considering it's probably that stupid recall part gone bad again, but he said "a lot can go wrong." I said "give me a break."

So, I read here that the I could change the crank shaft position sensor (or something like that) and it might fix the problem. What do you think?

...maybe; but I still cannot seem to get a picture of where this sensor is to take a look at it. I think that it is on the back side of the engine near the oil pan, but a google search does not yield much in the way of a WK2 (only older models).

That was what I found also when looking for a picture of where it's located. I'll probably just take it to an independent Jeep mechanic and have him do it for me. I've been using him for years now so I trust him.

Did he fix it? Also, if so, could you explain where that wire is located.

Mine does the same.
Was going to get my CPS changed, but maybe I'll have a look for bad wires there now.

Sorry, never went. My car hasn't stalled since the last time I posted, but I'm sure it'll stall at the most inopportune time. I'll let you know when I get it done, which at this point in time, won't be soon.
