You are awesome! Wish I had the knowledge for all of this. I get too worried I'll end up screwing it up more than it already is.

I am studying this stuff though. My ipad is full of a bunch of informative stuff!! However most of it just goes in one ear and out the other right now. Hopefully soooooon I'll get the hang of it all!!

Re: Engine stall Whilst Driving

This is a common problem in the WK. It was normally caused by a lack of oil pressure in the transmission odly enough. It happened to my 05 wk many times. I spoke with a jeep master technician who told me to slightly overfill the transmission fluid by about 1/4 to 1/2 of a quart. As skeptical as I was to do this I did it and the problem went away. That was almost 40k miles ago. He said that some times when new or just after a transmission flush there is not enough fluid put in and it cause a lack of pressure and it makes it stall out. Adding the fluid brings it to where its supposed to be and fixed the issue. He said adding a little extra fluid to a trans that is perfectly filled won't hurt anything as long as you don't over do it.

Re: Engine stall Whilst Driving

Gents I picked up my vehicle today. It turned out to be a software problem. It wasn't communicating properly with the fuel injection system. Didn't really understand but they fixed it and the problem is gone. Warranty covered it. They even washed and waxed her for me for free. To my understanding because there was a communication issue it didn't pull when I hit gas and the jeep thought it ran out of fuel and shut off. This was my understanding but didn't really understand cause they were throwing a lot of technical terms that I didn't know.

So far no problems but will keep you all posted!

Re: Engine stall Whilst Driving

On a side note. I just received a follow up call from the Chrysler group head office in the United Arab Emarites (they oversee the operations for the whole middle east) and they called to check in on my Jeep and just make sure all is okay.

This was a wonderful gesture on their part. Shows me that they actually care about their customers. It doesn't take much to pick up a phone call and follow up, but the fact that my vehicle was mentioned to them and a personal phone call from the Middle Eastern head office came to me just made me smile. +1 for them!

Re: Engine stall Whilst Driving

The same thing just happened to me yesterday while going to dinner with Mrs. While in mid turn the engine stalled and the steering wheel locked, luckily there was no traffic and I managed to stop the vehicle before we hit a lamp post. For a car that's less than 6 months old, this is bullshit! My wife won't ride the car again and honestly I don't feel safe driving the car anymore. Took it to the dealership here in Bahrain, let's see what they'll say. From what I know this only happens with the 5.7 V8, can anybody verify that?

Re: Engine stall Whilst Driving

Well I'm over here in Kuwait and it happened to me. I can confirm it's the 5.7 Hemi. All I can say is take your jeep right to the dealership and get them to troubleshoot and fix it up ASAP. Tell them you've heard of a case in Kuwait that had an issue with the software/fuel injection system so maybe that should be the first place they check. Also if you're under 6 months, don't pay a dime. It should still be under warranty! I'm sure Bahrain probably provide better warranties than over here. Mine I thought was for 2 years full warranty, turned out to only be a year.

Re: Engine stall Whilst Driving

and if they give you any issues, just give Chrysler group in Dubai a call and demand that they settle this issue with their Bahrain branch, because it's simply not acceptable in such a brand new vehicle in this day in age.

Re: Engine stall Whilst Driving

The dealer says there's nothing wrong with the vehicle (as expected(. They performed the software update but wouldn't guarantee this will not happen again.

Re: Engine stall Whilst Driving

Hmmm sorry I can't be of much help. If I were you I'd demand they get to the bottom of it. I really think there's an issue with the fuel injection system. But that's only bcause you seemed to have the exact same issue I had.

Good luck.
