Wow, I had no idea that the computer monitors power steering fluid levels/pressure!

Do you think you ran over something, or did the boot just fail?

Re: Engine warning light on

Neither did I.
Actually, it was our own stupidity. Not Jeep's fault.
We were almost stuck and some locals insisted on digging us out witha long handle spade/shovel. I suspect while the one guy was doing this, the spade caught on the boot and tore it.
Cant see it happen from sand driving only

Do you carry a 12V compressor so you can deflate tires in the sand, then reflate them?

I did on my previous Jeep (2006 Overland), but did not for this trip. Kept the tires at 36 PSI and it was fine. Will take it down to about 20 PSI on the next trip, just to see.
I spoke to the guys at the showroom/workshop and they told me that it is just about as good at normal pressure than it is deflated. They did loads of desert driving/training before the launch

Re: Engine warning light on

BTW, any thought from the experts if I did any damage driving it for about 20 miles on the highway (45mph) to the workshop without steering fluid? Very few turns, but some none the less.
Getting a bit worried as the dealer has had it for more than a day now...

Re: Engine warning light on

Dealers are lazy. Call them once a day for updates.
