EVIC Digital MPH Off

I noticed my EVIC Digital MPH was way off. If I was driving 40mph it was reading 70 and so fourth...Called the dealer, I have to bring it in to recalibrate it I guess. Anyone have this issue?

Re: EVIC Digital MPH Off

did you inadvertently switch it to Km/h? if so, your analog will read mph and digital will read kph. you can hit the little rightward pointing triangle button on the wheel to toggle it back and forth.
i found this out when i suddenly was apparently traveling at 120 on the highway... had a good laugh when i realized it was just 60 mph.

Re: EVIC Digital MPH Off

I note that the digital EVIC readout isn't always exactly what the dial speedometer reports (usually the dial is a couple mph higher), but that's a rather significant difference.

Re: EVIC Digital MPH Off

I noticed the road speed indicated by the 430N was 100% in agreement with the speedometer. Normally the speedometer could indicate 60 mph and the actual GPS speed would be 58 which is normal.

That's a smart way to check calibration. . .thanks for posting the tip.

Re: EVIC Digital MPH Off

I did check my Laredo against my Garmin 1695 (I have the 430) and once you reach speed it's dead on for me.

some canadian must have tested yur jeep bro. check the KMH vs MPH one more time OR your computer thinks it was delivered to somewhere that KMH is used. IDK.

but the math is too close
40 = 64.4

Re: EVIC Digital MPH Off

One mile is 1.62 KHM. Measuring the actual speed by GPS is the most accurate I have found.

Re: EVIC Digital MPH Off

Would that also effect the adaptive cruise control if so equipped?

Re: EVIC Digital MPH Off

The Canadian models have the same EVIC settings for Vehicle Speed as on the US models. Press the right arrow to toggle between mph and kph. (of course the analog dial is kph).

For info my speed on analog, EVIC and 430N GPS all indicate the same within 1 kph through the full range of normal speeds (once stable, in the case of GPS).
