Extended warranties

What are your thoughts on extended warranties, have a 2013 Overland with the ACC. I am pretty self sufficient, but the GC is a far cry from my 04 Wrangler. For 1300 can get a warranty that covers everything except wear and tear items for 7 years or 100k miles. We keep our cars about 7 years and with all the technology, it would pay for itself if only one of the systems crapped out after the factory warranty. TIA

Re: Extended warranties

Same thought I had. I got the 7 yr/85k mile Maximum care warranty for $1300 or so. Well worth in case something goes bad. With so many things controlled by electronics, I dont think I will be able to fix them myself. Plus, I get rental cars when my Jeep is in the shop.

Re: Extended warranties

I got a 7/100k exteneded for 1000. Full bumper to bumper, covers everything but wear items, also has rental coverage

When we bought our SRT Neon we got an extended warranty with that too. Not long after the factory coverage was up the water pump went. The money we spent on the extened warranty paid for itself in just that water pump job alone.

Re: Extended warranties

I just got the extended 100K warranty that includes 20 oil changes for an additional $1,000. Hell the 20 oil changes would cost me that much. I thought it was a good deal as well as a nice piece of mind insurance plan.

Re: Extended warranties

Be sure the warranty is a genuine Chrysler warranty, not from a secondary source. Many dealers sell second party warranties that may be hard collect on, especially at other dealerships.

Re: Extended warranties

Rich is correct definitely stick with Chrysler third party are a game some good some bad they deffinetly save you money.i was sold one and it worked out my mom and dad had one and the company went bankrupt.back in January it was 2000 to add to our warranty on our 2011 that was everything except normal wear.the best about chryslers is you can go to any Chrysler dealer where third party some dealers don't want the hassle.
