Yes, as has been brought up many times, even the Lifetime Max Care warranty is really a service contract. It covers a lot of the vehicle, but not everything. Before you sign on the dotted line read the contract (lots of fine print). Be sure you understand exactly what you are buying. After your factory warranty expires one major repair, such as a tranny replacement, would make up the cost of the contract. But it's a very individual thing. Years of ownership, mileage, driving style, and other things should all be taken into consideration. Some will win, some will lose. It's kind of like an auto repair lottery ticket. Having said all of that, I admit to purchasing one when I bought my Jeep. In my own personal experience extended service contracts have more than paid for themselves for me.
