Re: Extended warranty question

I did find exhaust systems in the exclusions, but couldn't find emissions control work. This was in a copy of my contract for Lifetime Max Care.

Re: Extended warranty question

Yes, as has been brought up many times, even the Lifetime Max Care warranty is really a service contract. It covers a lot of the vehicle, but not everything. Before you sign on the dotted line read the contract (lots of fine print). Be sure you understand exactly what you are buying. After your factory warranty expires one major repair, such as a tranny replacement, would make up the cost of the contract. But it's a very individual thing. Years of ownership, mileage, driving style, and other things should all be taken into consideration. Some will win, some will lose. It's kind of like an auto repair lottery ticket. Having said all of that, I admit to purchasing one when I bought my Jeep. In my own personal experience extended service contracts have more than paid for themselves for me.

Re: Extended warranty question

Also it depends on where you are but in Florida a service contract can be transferred if you sell the car.

As mentioned before, in my case the Lifetime (actually says 2099) Addred Care Plus made more sense for me.

Re: Extended warranty question

As a heads up for those who might be in a similar situation, i had purchased the MaxCare for my 2009 Overland in 2011 when i got it. When the car rolled 63k miles it was totalled in an accident. When i picked up my 14 and got the Maxcare, Chrysler bought back about 1200 dollars worth of my warranty back from my 09 to take off the price of the new one on the 14 warranty.
