FCW & ACC - Too Sensitive?
My wife has complained to me a few times about this while driving the Jeep, so I figured I'd see if it is a widespread problem or if maybe our sensor is mis-adjusted. She uses ACC while on the way to work as there are long stretches of 3-lanes (1 each direction + turn) with not much traffic early in the morning, but speed limit heavily monitored. Occasionally there are cars stopped in the turn lane going the same direction as her and she says when she approaches these vehicles, the FCW will kick in and the ACC will automatically slow down. The car sitting in the turn lane is no where close to being in her lane. Has anyone else experienced this issue?
I have never had this problem using ACC on the interstate and approaching slow moving vehicles in lanes next to me, but I am wondering if maybe the sensor can tell if cars are moving your direction or the opposite direction (as this doesn't happen on true 2-lane roads either) vs. stopped in a turn lane?
EDIT: She said she has tried ACC in 1, 2 and 3 and still gets the same results, only when approaching a stopped vehicle in the center turn lane.
