Re: Fear of 2014 Chryslers - Ridiculous

My 2012 Overland has had it's share of problems. I was seriously considering trading in my 2012 for a 2014 model. But there seems to be MORE potential problems with the newer model than with my current one.

Usually, manufacturer's refine a vehicle line over time and reduce the number of problems but it doesn't look like that is happening here. Maybe it's because the 2014 has been so totally redesigned in several key areas. In either case, I'm not sure I want another Jeep/Chrysler product; given all of these issues with their products and service.

Re: Fear of 2014 Chryslers - Ridiculous

Hey snipe315 !! I have noticed the same thing reading all these threads. I have a 2013 JGC Ltd. and I have noticed the 2011's, 2012's, and 2014's seem to be in the problem spot light. Before I bought my Jeep, I said to myself I would wait till the 3rd. year of manufacturing of the Grand Cherokee for the same reason you mentioned. 3 years is a good Time to get the bugs out of a new designed vehicle. I think their might be something to it. However I wondered how different a 13 was over a 12, but as time goes by, their could be something to it. I would wait for the bugs to be worked out of the 14's for at least another year or two. It does seem a lot of changes were done to the 14. Good ones, but time needs to pass to develope the 8 speed, the electronics, etc.etc. (just my opinion). I have a very good Dealer in this small town with an excellent reputation for many decades, they bend over backwords for the town people, and have many customers from other towns. Same family for many many decades. One of the owners sold me my Jeep.A very relaxed atmosphere with absolutely no pressure. A good dealer is so important. I have 20m miles on it now, had a few bugs, got them worked out, and I really enjoy driving it now. I hope to be driving it for the next 4-5 years.
