Finally a TSB for the tranny rough shifts

So please forget the fuse pulling or battery tcm resetting.

just schedule to have the TSB update done. If simply resetting the tcm was the fix, I doubt a software update would have been introduced.

Hopefully this will put an end to this.

Re: Finally a TSB for the tranny rough shifts

Ha! Chrysler was in such a rush to get this TSB out, they listed the size of the motor incorrectly ("3.7L").

I had a feeling it was a software issue. I'm just glad a TSB was finally put out though...let's hope they got it right!

You gotta get up a little earlier to beat Milous to the punch. He had it posted before 5am.

I Think I Fixed My Rough Shifting 8sp Transmission

But he is also the one who most likely posted it at the site you linked to. He is everywhere, all the time.

The OP linked directly to a PDF file that should either open or download depending on the device you are using. It is the complete TSB.

Has anyone had this done yet and if so, is there a noticeable difference? Will this improve the shifting on vehicles like mine that seem to shift fairly smooth with the original software, at least the way I generally drive? I wonder why the engine is referred to as 3.7L in the TSB...I thought the V6 was 3.6L.

The TSB is dated for 8/3/13 so as always Milous has provided a preview for things to come

Re: Finally a TSB for the tranny rough shifts

I visited a dealer today for this TSB. They hooked up my GC to their computer, but they found no update for any engine or transmission module. Dealers are not ready yet?

ktech35 is just really nice
Re: Finally a TSB for the tranny rough shifts

I got the TCU flash reprogrammed on my 3.6L Limited on Saturday and I'll tell ya it has been smooth sailing the past two days. My Jeep finally drives the way it should have from factory. I definitely recommend getting this unless you grown to love the harsh shifting.

Also I didn't even know about the harsh first to second/second to first shift while sitting at a light until I read the TSB which I tried on the way to the dealer. It would shake the entire vehicle! After getting the TCU flashed, tried the same thing...nada

There was even a PCM update available that they flashed, but I forget what it was for specifically.

Re: Finally a TSB for the tranny rough shifts

I wonder if they don't have their witech software update to date. It's the first line in the TSB.
