Sorry to bum you out, but not even 24 hours later, mine is headed back to the dealer. And for lemon status as this is time #4.

Re: First Problem With My Brand New 2014 GC Limited...While Driving Off Dealer Lot!

The service director saw my videos of the blue smoke. He said, I see it and I am going to get Chrysler involved. I just said thank you and let me know. We shall see.

Let us know what happens. The blue smoke on startup is the only real issue I am having.

Re: First Problem With My Brand New 2014 GC Limited...While Driving Off Dealer Lot!

Re: Blue Smoke On Incline Following Cold Start

If the customer complaint is blue exhaust smoke at cold start, there is a possibility that a new Service only oil pan assembly will be required to improve the condition. The new Service only oil pan assembly has an improved design to assist with oil management on vehicle parked on inclines.

Determine if the vehicle condition is on an incline.

Allow the vehicle to soak overnight on an incline of 15 degrees or greater overnight.
Start the vehicle in the incline position from the overnight soak.

If blue smoke is present, follow these recommended service steps:

1) Inspect for correct oil level following the revised oil level inspection procedure available in Tech
Connect.
2) Remove the PCV valve and determine if all O-rings are present and not damaged. If the O-rings
are damaged or missing, replace the PCV per standard service procedure and re-evaluate the
blue smoke condition
3) Complete a standard compression check and record results.
If compression results are less than specification, inspect, repair and replace per standard
service procedure. Inspect for missing or broken piston rings, broken valve springs, and broken
or damaged valve stem seats.
4) If blue smoke is still present, remove the intake manifold and inspect if all intake gaskets are
present and without splits or cuts. Replace any missing or damaged intake sealing gaskets and
re-evaluate the blue smoke condition
5) If blue smoke is still present, replace the oil pan assembly with the revised Service part
per the standard service procedures.

Note: The new oil pan assembly will require STAR center approval, PCM flash update also
required for 2012/2013 WD/WK to complete service fix and will be available starting 4/15/2013.

Re: First Problem With My Brand New 2014 GC Limited...While Driving Off Dealer Lot!

Since quadra-lift levels the car shortly after parking, does that mean all the cars with the blue smoke problem don't have it?

Re: First Problem With My Brand New 2014 GC Limited...While Driving Off Dealer Lot!

I don't think so. It would have to lower the front end about 6 inch on my driveway. However, I don't have QL, so I don't know for sure.

Re: First Problem With My Brand New 2014 GC Limited...While Driving Off Dealer Lot!

Is this blue smoke an issue every time it's parked on an incline overnight? Or does it happen sporadically? I ask because I park on a hill and I've noticed a puff of smoke coming out of the exhaust a couple of times. But certainly not every time.
