Hopefully it shows up so I don't have to go ballistic. The alternative was to have the tech drive my car around and verify my complaint. But since it doesn't always do the rough shifts that could have been pointless.
That is so ridiculous to hear that a dealer would charge that for a brand new vehicle in warranty. Time to find a new dealer.

I would just tell them you are having transmission issues and that there is an update. End of story.

They did the update for both the tranny and PCM, so I was right and they didn't charge me. Despite the threat to charge me, the rest of the service was fine. Decent waiting area and I was in and out of there with an oil change pretty quick. It's the typical dealer crap where they want to make sure you think they know more than you. There is another dealer in the area, but they have worse reviews then this one, which is actually rated decent.

Thumbs up Re: FLASH: TRANSMISSION SHIFT ENHANCEMENTS (vehicles with 3.6L engine)

I got the flash done yesterday, have not driven it much but ECO mode seems to be MUCH less annoying. It doesn't upshift as aggressively (ie in 8th gear at 12 mph ), shifts more like a normal transmission, feel less need to turn ECO off. Overall, just more responsive, super happy.

Maybe a nice waiting area but threatening to charge for a TSB? What would be the difference in the time of someone driving around for 20 minutes trying to duplicate the complaint. The TSB says to do the update if the complaint is lodged not threaten the customer.... Man some dealers!?!?

There is another TSB issued couple of days ago for PCM module flash. (Powertrain control module?) If you see MIL with a certain error code, you need to update PCM.

I didn't mention that one, but they applied it with my trans flash.

I think it's BS too that they said they would charge me if no updates showed up. She was all high and mighty that only technicians should see TSBs. But it got done. Hopefully I don't have to go through the same dialog when the remote start climate control and outside temp updates come out.

The day after I posted in page 8 of this thread, the truck went back to its old clunky self. The only improvement seems to be coasting. 1-2 2-1, atleast to me seems like it worse than before... How hard can it be to get this rt

That sucks.

Have you tried a battery disconnect to reset the system yet?

Re: FLASH: TRANSMISSION SHIFT ENHANCEMENTS (vehicles with 3.6L engine)

I mistakenly posted my results on the wrong thread yesterday! My dealer did the TSB for the transmission while I was in for service & so far if it stays the way it is I am QUITE HAPPY! Eco mode is way better as other people have said in regards to the upshifting, no downshift clunks either. I guess time will tell if it will remain "fixed". Dave

My transmission update was done yesterday. So far it is much improved especially the downshifts. I am trying to check impact on fuel economy. I don't think any serious difference.

Well that's good to hear! I almost considered passing on the tranny TSB if it greatly affects gas mileage as some have reported. Hopefully it's just their leadfoot responding to the smoother shifts!
