Re: FLASH: TRANSMISSION SHIFT ENHANCEMENTS (vehicles with 3.6L engine)

I just had the TSB flash done (finally a dealer that could do it!). No improvement here. The tranny is still clunky.

I've driven the BMW 528i and the Chrysler 300 with the ZF 8 speed. Those cars were so smooth. I wish mine was

Re: FLASH: TRANSMISSION SHIFT ENHANCEMENTS (vehicles with 3.6L engine)

From that article...

"Any criticisms of the 8HP have to do with the individual tunings a carmaker applies rather than with the unit itself."

I'm even more convinced it's purely a software issue now...

The service advisor at this dealership is kind of clueless so I gave him the TSB on this. Hopefully they just apply it and can get it back sometime today.

Re: FLASH: TRANSMISSION SHIFT ENHANCEMENTS (vehicles with 3.6L engine)

Got mine back today after they blew out the radio, kept it for 4 days and allegedly performed the TSB. There is zero difference in the transmissions response what-so-ever. This car is going to be a nightmare. Thank god I can dump it back on the dealer in 3 years.

Anyone noticing a rough downshift from 5->4 after the update? I feel like this update was 75%, a good start but they have a ways to go yet.

Re: FLASH: TRANSMISSION SHIFT ENHANCEMENTS (vehicles with 3.6L engine)

From what I've been reading on this thread, I think I'll hold off on any reprogramming. Looks like they need to fine tune this a little more before it's ready for prime time. Went through this with my '08 Enclave. Took GM a couple of tries to get it right.

I have that now before the update. They are coming to pick me up and I should be able to tell shortly how it reacts.

Re: FLASH: TRANSMISSION SHIFT ENHANCEMENTS (vehicles with 3.6L engine)

Update on Flash: The update made a difference on mine (so far). The clunking is almost un-noticable downshifting from 5-4. It still seems to get to 4th by 20mph. When I would step on it (say on the highway in 8th), it would clunk a little to 7th, no more of that. Going from 1-2-3 and 3-2-1 is less lugging as well. Overall, I would say it made it better but maybe not as great as some would hope.

They performed TCM and PCM (TSB 18-034-13 and TSB 21-007-13)
