Unhappy Re: FLASH: TRANSMISSION SHIFT ENHANCEMENTS (vehicles with 3.6L engine)

Well I too got the Sept 11 flash and 5 others.
All was fine for about a week (maybe 250 miles) and then it went back to where it was, just as bad as before.
I was really impressed with the improvements and now very disappointed.

Also my Oil Change monitor went from 70% to 14% in the same time frame.
So after only 3500 highway miles since my first oil change I am back in for another oil change.
The first one was at 8200 miles.

I hope this was not a big mistake getting A JGC.
This is my first Jeep and I am not feeling real good about it.

Mine also binged for an oil change after only 3900mi. Thought it was bc of a road trip I took even though it seemed unlikely...interesting to know if everyone is being prompted to get an oil change early

Re: FLASH: TRANSMISSION SHIFT ENHANCEMENTS (vehicles with 3.6L engine)

3200 miles on mine. Several road trips, lots of stop and go city, and a little off-roading. My oil life monitor says I have 60% left.

Re: FLASH: TRANSMISSION SHIFT ENHANCEMENTS (vehicles with 3.6L engine)

Well...I've encountered my first problem with the latest transmission reflash for the 2014 with the V6.

The mornings have been getting colder, and what I've noticed after the reflash is my GC now over revs/stays in 1st too long right after a cold start. I also noticed while it's still cold the tranny hunting a little in the lower gears.

Once the tranny warms up, things get better. The hard downshifts into 2nd and 1st when crawling in bumper to bumper traffic have gotten better, but occasionally I still get a hard downshift.

Keep trying Chrysler.

I have the same issue and have had it since the 1st flash came out. Sometimes it works like it should and others I get the harshness..

Would you still say it's better overall though Sno and GCL? (Plan on getting the flash soon, once the dealer gets back to me...)

Overall...yes. Not a 100% fix, more like an 80%.

The fix was great while it lasted...

Maybe the recall announced yesterday will bring it to 100%.
We can only hope!

I agree.. It is a band-aid on a bigger wound...makes using Eco mode better than originally.

Re: FLASH: TRANSMISSION SHIFT ENHANCEMENTS (vehicles with 3.6L engine)

Same issues as GC LIMITED.
Got the update...first thing I noticed was my oil life drop and I just changed it (went from 98 to 78).
auto shifting as great and now worse than before. very slow pick up and I now notice my auto headlights turn on and off when passing some shade trees and it is sunny out at 12 noon. Been to the dealer 8 times now...make it 9 with the upcoming recall.

That's exactly how I feel. You can't judge it on the way from the dealer wait a week.

We may be seeing more effect from the Dealer wiping Adaptive Memory than the Update itself.

I'm starting to think it's more about Fuel Mixture than Shift Points. The erratic power available throws the shifting (and driver) off so that it appears to be shift points.

It's been cool lately but not that cool.

This morning I took off from a light (after 15 min warm up) and it gave that Turbo Lag feel (quite bad actually). And I look down and I'm still in 2nd Gear and Moving !!! Other times if I'm moving in 2nd Gear the thing is a beast. It has to be fuel mixture to have so little power in 2nd gear while moving.

It has to be fuel mixture that it's playing with. When ECO mode is off I think it backs off the fuel mixture tweaks to improve MPG. Along with slight adjustments to shift points. I believe the Shift Points are actually fine with ECO Mode on. But the Fuel Mixture adjustments are messed up. Or a bad senor it uses in Eco mode is sending erratic info.

I think the weather changing might be impacting the ECO Mode Fuel Mixture. I might pull battery off again and see if it runs good for a week again. Because it did run good for a while. Almost as good as ECO Off.

Mine seemed to go down hill the next morning after taking a Trailer off from the prior evening. Perhaps the Adaptive thing learned something it shouldn't while the Trailer was on.
