Just reset it and it will go back to what it should be at or to 100. Mine was at 19% after the update, then I did the rest and it went to 65% which seems about right.

Ok so this has been driving me nuts and I think i figured out how to reproduce it...

I drove the JGC on the streets using the paddle shifters, stopped at the light before the on ramp to the highway and made sure the indicator was set to "D", jumped on the highway... it would not go into 8th at high speeds until i hit the up shift paddle to force it into 8th, then I to put it back to "D" , slowed down enough to make it down shift when i stepped on the gas, it downshifted and then went into 8th no problem, also no problems after that on the streets after i got off the highway.

Repeated the process on the way to work this morning and it did it again. I guess I will pull the power from vehicle and let it sit to reset and check again. Hopefully it will resolve it or it will be a call to the dealer which by the way there are only 2 near by and i hate both.

Re: FLASH: TRANSMISSION SHIFT ENHANCEMENTS (vehicles with 3.6L engine)

I've been following this thread for a few months now and it really seems like you've been involved with providing updates and info on your transmission experience since day one. I too have issues surrounding my transmissions were it lurches when decelerating mainly from 5-4 and again 2-1. This had made for a really unenjoyable ride. I seem to never be able to time my breaks right cause there so much drag caused by the transmission the car basically breaks itself. A recent post on this thread by you seem to be a complete 180 from previous posts were you were once frustrated with the tranny updated but since your most recent flash and battery pull seems to work wonders. My question for you is, what flash are you talking? I know there are three, the original that came out in August, the second I believe late sept and the Third which looks like clerical update sometime in October. I've been the the dealer two separate occasion for my tranny. The first in August when they applied the first tranny flash, but the problem persisted. After that trip no service department would flash any "new" updates even after the second was released saying I had the most up to date. What steps have you've taken with your car to get it to perform so much better and what did you have to do with the service department in order for them to provide you a "potential" second flash, if that's what happen?

Is this a reply to me or someone else? Sorry, haven't quite figured out how stuff works here.

Had the transmission update done yesterday and the oil life went from about 65 to 34%. Annoying. Not sure I want to try the reset, might wait and see what happens.

Re: FLASH: TRANSMISSION SHIFT ENHANCEMENTS (vehicles with 3.6L engine)

I drove a 2014 Limited 3.6 this morning this is the first time I drove one with the 3.6 and 8 speed as mine has the 5.7. The vehicle I drove had about 12K miles on it and I will say that transmission was very smooth and seemed to have plenty of power.

Hey Milous,

So this is an actual flash update, not like the last one that was just an update to the bulletin?

Wondering the same. When I brought the jeep to the dealer for the last TSB on this transmission update they told me it was up to date and turn into a wasted visit.

Finally!!!
But then again we will most likely see another update 4 months from now
I just hope they understand the wear that has been put on the tranny and when something goes they give you the line.... You must have been rough with your jeep it is not our responsibility to replace the transmission
