Same here- that's the only clunk I notice during an entire trip.

REVISED 12/18/2013
I had this update done and have found the 1st-2nd shift has greatly improved, no more slamming into that shift. However, a new problem has come out of the update. The downshift into 1st gear as I come to a stop is now extremely rough and actually causes the whole vehicle to drastically lurch forward even when my foot is completely on the brake. I tried putting the transmission in Sport mode and it seems to go away somewhat, same when the ECO mode is off. However, when in the default mode with ECO on it is really intolerable. I will be adding this to my list of issues with the transmission on my current ongoing repair attempt records.

THAT my man is a bad tranny...bad lock up solenoid....when that happens or bad rear sprague...

Let me throw something out just for bleeps & giggles..
I too, noticed very slow, sloppy & frequent shifting in my (Nov build V6 JGC) hated driving it, UNIL I added the Hypertech Interceptor harness..

I added it to firm up the shifts but more so to clean up the acceleration lag inbetween all the shifts.. My car shifted like 6 times before even getting to 40 MPH..

I posted in a different thread, but let me tell you, this thing makes a BIG difference!
Shifting is now crisp & QUICK.. My car's acceleration is spot on, no lag or lulls at all whatsoever..

My 19 yr old son took it out last night & I asked him how did the new Jeep feel, and he said, "it really jumps when I hit the gas" drives great, I can't believe its a Jeep!

I doubt I will get any transmission updates due to all the complaints, fix something, then something else goes awry etc....

Might want to give it a shot.. It certainly cleaned up the shifting & acceleration issues I was having! Now, this car is actually FUN to drive & I look forward to getting into it!

Feel free to PM is you have any questions..

It shifts like a dream now with RevC. Don't even care about Sport Mode or Eco off now, they are now pointless to me.

It's badically now in "auto sport mode"

Smooth, economical and sporty all at once.

I suspect others with issues have a mechanical issue or update was borked.

Don't knock it unless you tried it.

Re: FLASH: TRANSMISSION SHIFT ENHANCEMENTS (vehicles with 3.6L engine)

I have had rev D installed and it made the 1-2 shift better. But the downshift into first feels like someone rear ended me.

Re: FLASH: TRANSMISSION SHIFT ENHANCEMENTS (vehicles with 3.6L engine)

I went in with C and told them D might be out. They just said they'd put on the latest one. It doesn't say on my receipt which was applied. Anyway, first impressions are pretty good. I won't go into detail until I've driven for a couple weeks but it's promising... as was every other flash update! Hopefully these will stick and not turn into mush again? We'll see.

I have a slight lurch at times when coming to a stop but nothing that extreme. Mine has been better since the B update but still happens occasionally - I am going to ask for the latest update soon.

Hey Willx, like you did for Rev-A vs Rev-B, and very much appreciated, can you get to the bottom of the Rev-C vs Rev-D thing if it is yet newer firmware or just procedural updates for Rev-D.

Sure would be nice if they listed actual firmware versions and put those versions on your work order.

I'm guessing it's procedural again. I can't imagine them releasing more firmware so soon, it would probably take longer to test than the time span between Rev-C and supposed Rev-D.

Thanks !!

Still haven't been able to find mention of Rev. D anywhere but this thread.

Re: FLASH: TRANSMISSION SHIFT ENHANCEMENTS (vehicles with 3.6L engine)

For those of you that got the 'D' version, how do you know? Did you see anything written (work order, printout, etc.) Do we know that there is actually a D revision?

Working theory seems to be that the D revision (if it even exists since we can't really find mention of it other than here) is just additional guidance to the dealer, not an actual programming update.

Re: FLASH: TRANSMISSION SHIFT ENHANCEMENTS (vehicles with 3.6L engine)

I'm beginning to think this "D" revision is the figment of someone's imagination.
