There is no excuse for a dealer to not be able to perform a TSB other than WiTech being down.

It is one system for all programming, if they are able to program any vehicle they have access to this update (unless they did not follow instructions to update their WiTech the week of the 20th of July but that takes no time at all).
Well stated Willx!!

I think your point is further proving mine... if every dealer has access to the new witech software, and the same system updates everything available, then why do 90% of dealers fail to deliver the update? Are they all failing to deliver updates on other modules as well?

From what i know the INPUT to the witech system (corporate service) dictates which TSBs show up for flash, and also which part numbers are eligible for that flash.

We still can't prove that the input to the witech is not broken. The only way to prove that is for your dealership to service all of the angry customers on the forum and show that your flashing capabilities are superior.

I have to change my appoint to Friday due to work. I will know my dealer's reaction on Friday. I email to the service manager about the question of TSB but no answer so far.

You maybe missed what I had said... I work for dealer"s" as in plural or many. I support the WiTech system for dealers.

You are talking about something you do not understand. WiTech is nothing but a gateway and the WiTech software is something that runs on the PC (Small Applet). the STAR Scanner and Pods again are just a wireless link that is all!

I am going to be extremely clear here THE DEALER WOULD HAVE NO IDEA IF THEY COULD FLASH THE CAR OR NOT UNTIL THEY PLUGGED IT INTO THE TOOL!!! The tool then scans the ENTIRE CAR and checks the module versions against that of the central database at Chrysler... THE SAME DATABASE FOR ALL DEALERS IN NORTH AMERICAN OPERATIONS.

For a dealer to tell someone over the counter that they don't have this update is only one of two things. They are unaware and too lazy to look or they don't know what they are doing.

Please enlighten us if you know better how the Chrysler vehicle programming system works and or your local dealer is somehow connecting to vehicles with a different method then everyone else.

Will so if the dealer is not running 14.01 do they not see the transmission update?

Good question... the dealers are given advanced notice of WiTech upgrades and they need to look at that notice every single time they access the service system. So it is pretty rare that they wouldn't know that they needed to be at that version when it is released.

Plus, the TSB actually reminds the dealers they need to be running the new version.

I would imagine that it will show the update but not allow them to complete it properly...

The key here though, is that people are being turned away with "we don't have that update" and the premise behind that statement is actually false. Every dealer has it or none do and as people have received the update, clearly it is available.

If I was to put it in easy IT terms, all Chrysler programming is cloud based... they only have user portals and wifi devices. So either they are connected to the cloud or they are not, there is no grey area. Hence my passionate response on the subject.

I guess what I am trying to say is if they didn't have the latest WiTech software, they need to. This TSB would have just reminded them and they could have installed the upgrade in a matter of minutes. It would not prevent them from knowing what needed to be done for the sake of the customer!

...and hey, in the service industry, who is more important than the customer?

Will,

Re: FLASH: TRANSMISSION SHIFT ENHANCEMENTS (vehicles with 3.6L engine)

Should everyone with the 2014 3.6 get this or only if you notice a problem?

IMHO, if you are happy with the way your transmission shifts, don't worry about it right now, because you have lots of warranty left.

If you allow more people to get the fix then you can see the feedback. As one member reported, he seen an early shift to 7th and that is possibly compensating for some later shifts earlier in the map?? You never know it could even result in better fuel mileage and other reasons to do it. When you drive your own vehicle just pay attention to the 2-3 up shift and the 3-2 downshift, if you feel there could be improvement there that is where most of the change took place tmk.

I'm on the fence myself but probably will get it eventually . I only have the low speed clunk once and while so can wait a little.

Re: FLASH: TRANSMISSION SHIFT ENHANCEMENTS (vehicles with 3.6L engine)

Just an update, after being turned away at one dealership on Monday for the flash because they didn't have it, it was successfully completed today at another dealership--my new dealership after Monday--this morning haha. So your dealerships should have that software now.

Re: FLASH: TRANSMISSION SHIFT ENHANCEMENTS (vehicles with 3.6L engine)

Hey folks - I'm not looking to buy my 2014 GC(Limited or Overland...still not decided) until next Feb/Mar - so I assume most of the early issues will have been sorted out by then, but just wondering about these TSBs - are they something that Chrysler notifies you about, or do you need to make yourself aware of them? Thanks!
