Thanks!
Unlike recalls, they do not notify you of TSB's. Depending on the TSB, the dealer may perform it when you take it in for other service, or, for others, you will actually have to complain about the symptom for them to perform the TSB.

Re: FLASH: TRANSMISSION SHIFT ENHANCEMENTS (vehicles with 3.6L engine)

I just returned from my dealer after having the update installed on the Overland. It is night and day better in eco mode. Before in eco, it seemed like you had to floor the pedal before it would kick down a gear so you could increase speed. Downshifts were also very rough, felt like a person learning a stick shift. Heavy traffic in eco mode was a night mare which involved lots of wide open throttle/slamming on brakes to stay with traffic...NOT ANYMORE!

With the update, the transmission performed great! Eco mode drives more like non-eco just more conservative...which is how it should be. No clunks, sluggishness or rough downshifts anymore. The throttle is more responsive now as well, most likely from being in the correct gear and downshifting like it should to increase speed.

I went to the dealer and showed them the TSB on my phone and 45 minutes later I was on my way back home. Very easy process for me.

Fantastic, Everyone's experience "should" be this easy.

I just called another dealer to see what they can do. They said they'd call me back in 30 minutes.

Re: FLASH: TRANSMISSION SHIFT ENHANCEMENTS (vehicles with 3.6L engine)

has anyone else observed an early SMOOTH shift to 7th gear (6th or 7th, depending on speed) in ECO mode ? Or am I the only lucky guy receiving an obscure PCM upgrade instead of the advertised TCM flash?

in fact I noticed one other thing: when you come to a full stop, you are in 2nd gear, then in drops to 1st. That's different from before, at least on mine.

Re: FLASH: TRANSMISSION SHIFT ENHANCEMENTS (vehicles with 3.6L engine)

My 2014 GC is in the shop for other issues and has told me they can not do the flash as the dealers in the Southeast have not been notified. I printed it off and gave it to the Service manager on Monday and yesterday he said he still could not do it.

Why don't you call Chrysler and ask them why some dealers cannot do it... Their answer will be the same as mine, They Can!

Chrysler does not release TSBs for work that cannot be performed. I mean this is just mindless.... I will be frustrated for you on this one item!

Re: FLASH: TRANSMISSION SHIFT ENHANCEMENTS (vehicles with 3.6L engine)

Just got back from the dealer after getting the flash update. This thing is like a new beast. Much more responsive, no more 2 second delay between 1st and 2nd gear, easier downshifts. Making a 90 degree turn onto a street startled me for a second as it actually had power on demand rather than slugging and searching for a gear. It's rather nice to finally have power on demand from a dead stop as well. Color me crazy, but the rear end clunk I was getting from a dead stop with some firm acceleration seems to be gone as well...or at least I wasn't able to replicate it yet so that has me happy. I'm envisioning a bit of a re-learning process to fully smooth everything out but so far so good. My faith in Jeep is finally on its way to being restored.

One note that I do want to pass along is that the tech told me that the flash update kept failing when he was trying to do it "wirelessly". He had to hardwire his tool in and then the update completed. Keep this in mind in the event that any techs try to tell you that they can't get the update to take.

Good luck to everyone else...

Hopefully this is the case. I had the same clunk with mine but have not had enough drive time to listen for it since I got the update.
