Question Fob and Clock Problems

Hello, any techs or owners with feedback would be appreciated. This past weekend, locked up my WK2 as usual. When I came out I found the fob would not unlock the doors. Tired the handle also, but nothing. So I had to use the fob valet key for entry, but unfortunately that set off the alarm. The fob would not turn it off so after a short time I pulled the start button out and started it manually which reset everything. Prior to this while in the vehicle, got the Info Center message: "Key not Detected" so it wasn't even recognizing it. The second spare fob worked fine later.

I've never had a smart key problem before and only had my WK2 since July. Is it possible for a problem to develop so quickly or could there some other explanation? I'm taking it in this week to look at the fob but wondered if anyone had a similar experience?

Also, another weird thing recently. When starting up a couple days ago I noticed the clock function froze at the time it started. The frozen time showed up on both the media center and on the screen when the radio was off. After it sat parked for a couple hours, it resumed normal. First time I've ever seen that. Any ideas on his one? Thanks, DS.

Re: Fob and Clock Problems

Could be that the battery is due to be replaced. Though I haven't changed the battery in my fob in a year and no issues so far.

I've seen 2 or 3 technical bulletins on this issue. The bulletins (TSBs) are found here:
