fob in vehicle=locked

so i'm leaving work today, and since it' like -20f out i decide to remote start through uconnect app. i wait and wait nothing,ok i'll just go out and start it myself. so i do this and keep the fob in the vehicle. i proceed to leave, and the vehicle is locked wtf i say. i try using the app to unlock the vehicle and it always comes back with unsuccessful message. so my q's is assuming it was a glitch that it locked in the 1st place, correct? and what good is this app if it won't work because the fob is in the vehicle(assuming not working because never had an issue prior). plus side of things roadside assistance works. so main main question is holy sheet why did it lock with fob inside?

Re: fob in vehicle=locked

i see no one answered this.

i assume a remote start from the app always locks the doors so that no one can drive off with your car.

now obviously it should know if the key is in the car and not lock on remote start.

i just tested to see if i could lock the fob in my car and i could not. i put the key in the car, opened the door, manually hit the lock button on the door, then closed the door. the horn honked, the lights flashed, and the car unlocked.

i did not try your test as don't want to be stranded, but suspect your 'use case' was not accounted for in development/testing.

Re: fob in vehicle=locked

It was a glitch, since your first move was through uconnect, what it did was override the key fob remote start once uconnect received the signal. My uconnect takes about 3 mins to actually start my car. Using uconnect to start your vehicle also automatically locks the doors even with your keys in the vehicle(know from experience). The reason why it didn't read you unlocking your vehicle through uconnect is because of the glitch from starting with the key fob. Hope this helps ya!
