Re: Forward Collision Warning Problem

Can the ACC/FCW be turned off in the 2015's?

MY16 will handle stationary objects.
Wonder if it's picking up birds or something moving that we really don't notice.

Re: Forward Collision Warning Problem

I'm not convinced it's moving objects, because mine alerted falsely mostly when driving on the highway and beneath overpasses with signs, or just under overhead signs. I think there's something on the signs that triggers the alarm. I'm hoping to pick mine up Monday or Tuesday. Hopefully the FCW is fixed and I'll see what they say about it.

But seriously, mine was giving infrequent false alerts and dealer said sensor was aimed too high. They adjusted it and the false alerts stopped. Also it may have gotten "spooked" by the appearance of that small green/yellow reflective sign to the right as u entered intersection since its kinda in a no man's land.

Re: Forward Collision Warning Problem

I went to the dealership try to make an appointment and the service guy blame my dash cam was interfering the system. I know even I have them take a look, they wouldn't find anything, just like the battery problem I had before, they were only able to replace the battery for me when the battery was completely dead, which I knew the cell must have been dead beforehand.

Re: Forward Collision Warning Problem

I got mine back from the dealership a few days ago. They replaced the front radar. Everything works well now. I'm glad to have the ACC back in use.

Re: Forward Collision Warning Problem

Went to AutoNation in Bellevue, WA last week. The service representative look at the Collision Warning System and he told me the bracket for the sensor is missing. Can anyone with a Summit confirmed that?

Re: Forward Collision Warning Problem

Mine has a potential issue related to the ACC, where when I engage the ACC (in slower traffic) and hold the + button to bump it up to 70, the set speed will increase a few increments and then the ACC will cut out and "ACC/FCW Unavailable, may need service" or something like that pops up in the screen. It doesn't always happen either, maybe 1-2 times out of 10. If I re-engage ACC it almost always works just fine on the second attempt. I think maybe once it's done it twice (cutting out) which was really annoying.

Anyone else ever experienced this? It's going to be really hard for the dealer to do anything about because it's so infrequent and doesn't seem to have anything that can consistently replicate it.

I'm not that bent out of shape about it, I figure if it ever starts doing it regularly it'll be easy for the dealer to address.

It happened to me when I was driving on the highway, try to increase the speed. Once disable the ACC and enable again, it works again.
