Re: Fuel usage

I used to use an Excel spreadsheet. Now I use a program design to track maintenance, mileage and the like for my motorhome. It lets me track info on as many vehicles that I have. I have found the mileage calculation in the Jeep EVIC to read about 1 MPG better than actual.

Re: Fuel usage

My last 6 tanks have been (starting with most recent, calculated by dividing trip mileage by gallons during refill):

19.35
19.35
20.11
19.20
19.38
18.23

I have almost 5k miles so far. I live in Denver so the altitude makes my mpg worse than someone at sea level. Most of my driving is 9 miles to and from work each day, with I'd guess an average speed of about 20mph (not quite bumper to bumper traffic, but not moving smoothly either). Just about every weekend I drive up into the mountains which is bad for MPG on the way up, but good on the way back. I also do a lot of short trips running around, which is probably not good for the Jeep as they are all less than 1 mile trips (grocery store, restaurants, etc.), but my gf's 2008 car feels like it was built by the original Henry Ford compared to all of the features and comfort of my WK2, so we always drive mine.

I use a spreadsheet, using fuel sales receipts.

Footy towed the peddle, still getting 14.5 in town, so i guess it is normal. My pocket does not enjoy it. Still love my jeep.

Re: Fuel usage

You guys have way too much time on your hands. Excel spreadsheets???

If mileage concerns you that much then you bought or are buying the wrong car.

Easy for you to say, must be a millionaire or something. Knowing your jeep in an out makes a jeep.
If you don't care what are you doing here. If you are shore you haven't confused jeep garage with face book.

Re: Fuel usage

So doing simple division makes you a Jeep expert? Plus altering you driving habits to save a couple dollars is absurd when you purchased a $40k dollar vehicle.
