Re: Garage door opener too short range

Funny thing happened to me about 25 years ago with my garage door opener. Back then the whole radio set up was quite different, and I had a problem with my garage door opening on its own at different times of day and night. I had the garage door company come out, and they told me they had similar complaints in my neighborhood. They said, and I have no way of corroborating this, that it was a plane to runway landing signal that was causing it. I lived along an airport landing path. They changed the code on my transmitter and opener and it stopped. I suppose stranger things have happened.

Re: Garage door opener too short range

I have 2 seperate garage doors with different motors/recievers. Door #1 has rediculous range. Door #2 requires me to bulldoze the front of my Jeep into it before it will respond. Tried to re-pair the homelink but that didn't make any improvements. However, what did work for me was to change the frequency at which the "weaker" door operated. Keep in mind, this is an older unit (15yrs). It has a wired reciever module which mounts near the door motor itself. There are a series of switches that pair the reciever module to the motor/unit. Experimented with a different frequency and the range has greatly increased.

Is this normal? Can the range be extended?
On GC 2011 Laredo X 70 anni.

I can open my garage door from almost a full block away.
