No. Not in my case anyway. I won't go near a station that has a vapor recovery system. Most of the stations around me who have had them, have removed them because of constant customer complaints. Another solution to a non existent problem.

Re: Gas Nozzle Stops On Empty Tank

I have the same problem. Costco pumps and Shell nozzles seem to be the most problematic. For me, holding the handle higher and pointing the nozzle downward more seems to help, but it takes a number of tries to get it right. Definitely frustrating.

Funny, that is what it recommends in the Ford Escape owner's manual.

Gas Nozzle Stops On Empty Tank

Also, I have had this same issue on my Summit- ever since I bought it. When I pull up to the pump, 50/50 shot if I am going to have an issue or not. Fortunately I don't drive too much.

Re: Gas Nozzle Stops On Empty Tank

I had to bring in my 2014 for other work, and the service dept discovered that there was a bad check valve on the fuel tank that they say is the culprit. We'll see once they replace it if it remedies the issue, but hopefully this helps someone else.

Re: Gas Nozzle Stops On Empty Tank

I had mine repaired, something about an exhaust hose being kinked if memory serves.
