I can recreate the "styrofoam" sound. All I need to do is push in the leather on the handle area of the passenger door. I do that to irritate my wife. ;-)

As for the an update on the rattle, well, it appears to be gone now that I put the rubber pads down. I'll probably make them more permanent with some hot glue or something like that. One fell the other day without my knowledge and I suddenly heard the rattle and I couldn't figure out why until I looked on the rug and there was the rubber square.

Unfortunately I don't think my dealer will do that even though it's under warranty.

Re: Glovebox rattle

I have the same problem and finally took it to the dealer today. They ordered a new glove box (warranty) so we'll see it that takes care of it.

So I cut some squares and put them in the are where the latches go. I think one side of velcro would work. What I was trying to do was just prevent the latch from going back and forth.

I know it looks ugly, but nobody is seeing it and it was just a test.

So how did it do? Well, I didn't hear the rattle, though I may have heard it, but I wasn't sure. I did notice a bunch of other little rattles all around, but it could have just been stuff that's in the trunk. All I know is that I didn't hear any irritating sound. I'll know if it worked for sure as time goes on.
Thanks for the tip, I used the soft side of Velcro and now that rattle is gone! Now to fix the one at the gages.

Re: Glovebox rattle

The rattle I experience sounds like it is behind the glovebox. I want to open it up and get in behind to see if there is soemthing loose. Does anyone know how to remove the glove box door? I am afraid to "squeeze" the sides of the door in to release the stop tabs on the sides but can't see any other way of doing it?

Mine would open by itself once in a while, have not resorted to using the key yet. Yesterday my wife was passenger and the stupid thing opened, she said "Have you checked the forums yet to see if anyone is having the same problem?"

Re: Glovebox rattle

The rattle is actually coming from the bottom of the panel behind the glovebox. I actually ripped out the string holding the glove box in place and it has helped some. If you take the door all the way out and hit near the bottom of your panel, it will rattle. Mine is going into the dealer next week to see if they can fix it.
