I can't believe I have to take a 4 day old car into the dealer.
Wait a second yours was a 4/7 build date??? Oh my, this spans around a month of builds.....hope not all the axles had this problem.

Yep, I have an April build, so whatever the problem was in March wasn't fixed when mine was built. Here are two better pics (one is the driver's side axle which has the problem, the other is the passenger side axle which is (so far) fine.

What is the exact fix that they do for this? New axle? New boot clamp? I want to tell the mechanic what others have done to fix it.

Re: Grease In Both Front Wheels... Normal?

Thanks for the suggestions... I just spoke to Nader and he said he was going to ask the service guys to check it for me. I'll follow up on it when I'm there tomorrow as well. Sounds like this issue may be pretty widespread...

Be sure they clean up the grease mess and properly secure the ABS brake sensor lines in their clips.

Good luck!

Re: Grease In Both Front Wheels... Normal?

Thank you. I'm actually going to ask they put it back on the rack when I show up to pick it up because I'm going to look for those very things.

Yep - study all the photos and make sure all is right before you leave. My service guys did a great job but oddly didn't clip one barrel clip thing on each side ... scratching my head at missing such a thing!

Same problem here. New '14 JGC Limited, manufactured 4/14. It looks like the CV is not clamped to anything. Grease EVERYWHERE.

Called my dealer and they said they hadnt heard of this problem. I'm bringing it in tomorrow. I've had the jeep for like 12 days.

every single person affected really should log a complaint with NHTSA.

it only takes a few minutes and it will get the gov on FIAT's ass/

However, it looks to me like the passenger boot has rotated (i.e. outboard silver ring clamp not tight). The one pen alignment mark on the boot does not line up with either of the 2 alignment marks on the outboard ring clamp. These marks are made AFTER a part is assembled/tightened/torqued completely to show that is has been done. Why are those alignment marks not aligned?

Have them verify this outer ring clamp is doing it's job....good luck!

Yep - Same problem.....you can see the metal clamps have slipped off in your photos. A greasy mess. Looks like there is a span of at least 30 days of build dates that have been affected......I sure the heck hope that not all vehicles built then had this defective part.
