with the high pressure you should be able to clean them wheels up good.
They are giving it a full detail. No way I was gonna drive it with that stuff all over it

Re: Grease In Both Front Wheels... Normal?

BOTH left and right? Very odd! I mean if both boots on same half-shaft were missing (don't buy that they fell off) I could understand that as a bad batch of half-shafts but to have one boot missing a clamp on EACH shaft, that's a manufacturing assembly line issue for that station....

Yep both wheels

Car is 11 days old today.

It Looks like the two rings behind the wheels are loose and moving around. Definitely not okay.

Service is closed today too but I called the salesman and he said they have one guy working and to bring it in when I get out of work.

I definitely don't feel comfortable driving around with loose parts by the wheels so I'm hoping they have a rental I can take.

I'll add this to the list of things I need to inspect on my recently delivered factory order... Geez. FCA should start paying us for doing their quality control checks.

Re: Grease In Both Front Wheels... Normal?

Dropped it off at the dealership. The one service guy looked at it and was like "wtf how many miles are on the car. This shouldn't have happened". The salesman wanted me to come back on Monday since service was closed all weekend and couldnt do anything.

I laughed and told him its a 10 day old car that I didn't even use up a full tank of gas on so he talked to the manager and gave me a preowned car as a rental. Driving a 2011 Jeep liberty with a sticker price of $15,000 on it for a vehicle I paid over $40,000 for.

I'm going to call the service department Monday morning to see how long it'll be until I get my car back. Phillyant said they replaced both axles, rather than just the CV boots, should I demand that if they just want to replace the boots themselves?

Phillyant's and mine must have came on the same Shipping Truck/Same factory since he received his Sunday April 6th, and I got mine Monday April 7th. Im in North Jersey.

Yes make them put on new axles and dont let them give you remanufactured ones demand new. Remanufactued can often have to much play in them an you end up with clunking sounds coming from them. That is very sad to see and its not just a one vehicle mistake. So if there are two then there are likely more.

So much for quality improving a year later. Id rather deal with the multitude of unrefined software issues i had to deal with on an early build rather than mechanical related failures like that.

Hope you get that worked out.

Okay great. I will call them first thing Monday morning to ask what they will be doing. I understand things happen, but this is unacceptable for a brand new vehicle, whether it is $10,000 or $40,000. I was looking at the pictures I took of the front and back, and I think I may have found the problem.

If you look at the pictures of the back CV boot in the background, it has a silver metal clamp on it holding the end of the boot. The front ones didn't seem to have the clamp on it all as you can se in the pictures above.

Those bands are what hold and seal the boot in place with out it that side of the boot probably just came off when you were making a turn or something and threw the greese everywhere like that.
