I know Jeeps aren't that reliable, but seriously? My first Jeep...and the way things have started, probably my last. Gift for my wife, had it for 1 week and now she's already without a vehicle.
Now I know why people warn you about Jeeps. Who cares if they're nice if you can't depend on them.
Sorry to hear you're a member of the grease club too.
I know it is frustrating. But have no fear, Jeeps are reliable. This is my seventh new Jeep. My 2005 GC had ZERO issues in six years. My 2011 GC had ZERO issues in three years except upon delivery one front seat cushion bottom had leather that was excess/loose and the leather cover was replaced at my request (some people may not have even noticed it). My other five Jeeps were all great except the first model year GC in fall of 1992 did have a few warranty issues but that was 20+ years ago and quality has improved a lot since then.
My sister's huge $$$ Lexus SUV has been in the shop a few times. Same with my brother's Yukon.
The axle replacement is a bummer and quite frankly a surprising parts quality error, but once it is done you'll forget about it soon enough. Hang in their and ... hopefully soon ... you'll be enjoying your GC!!!
Best wishes...and can you post your build date please.
