those 6 plus the two letters before them represent the unique portion of your vin. It will be referred to what it is, "your last 8".

However, while this when compared to PhillyAnt's will identify they came down the line close together I do not feel that is the issue. I strongly feel it is the source station/facility/supplier of the half-shafts/CV joint assembly.

Pretty sure the person who installed that "sub-assembly" did not piece it together but rather just installed that sub-assembly piece. Jeep makes some parts in JNAP, some outside JNAP and sources others from suppliers. Sorry, that statement is a, "Oh really? Didn't know that!"

I think I had this the other day, I'd be interested to know what they find on yours.

That sucks lol. My dealer put me in a Dodge Ram that had 7 miles on it. Nice and roomy but boy did I miss the tech. I felt like I was driving in the 90s again, having to rely on my own senses for everything

Re: Grease In Both Front Wheels... Normal?

Got the SAME problem with mine too! LOL Oh well. I don't get mad at things like this, I'm just a bit disappointed. I'll post photos soon.

I noticed accumulated brake dust right away (like after 20 miles or so) on the front two rims and I didn't think much of it. Went to a self-serve wash yesterday and realized it is grease and didn't look too close as gonna do an early oil change anyway where they will inspect everything at the same time. So, after reading this post, i went do to take a close look. WOW, what a grease mess in my front two wheels. Looks like the boot on the large side next to wheels isn't clamped.

I'm sure there are a lot of them out there with this problem. Don't know if assembly or supplier fault. What a mess.

Oh well, off to my local dealer tomorrow for service. I guess another reason Jeep needs to tighten up on the QC. Love my Summit, but looks like I get new axles early....LOL

Ugh that's ridiculous. Yep they screwed up bad at the factory. Looks like yours got built/delivered the same time as PhillyAnts and mine. What area are you in?

Also, can someone without this problem take pictures of their cv boots? Would like to see if there's any differences.

Re: Grease In Both Front Wheels... Normal?

^^^ PhillyAnt's and mine rode out on the same train initially then got split later. I think the important thing is when built. Mine went built pending inspection on 3/21. Perhaps Jeep has a video system at each assembly point to pin point exactly what went wrong, unless a supplier issue. Dunno. Perhaps somewhere a worker is hoarding a house full of clamps for the coming doomsday? LOL

Pretty much same as mine. Mine was shipped out on March 26th.
