Re: Grease In Both Front Wheels... Normal?

I think recalls...for any vehicle take many months.

From the post, Jeep must have identified the batches affected and are in the continuing to remove them from the supply chain and fixing vehicles. As far as notifying Jeep owners who haven't noticed the issue yet, haven't heard anything on that yet.

I figured I'd wait for the lift-kit before I did the wheels.

There may be stuff going on in the background but Jeep has neither acknowledged or addressed the problem.

Neither Jeep Customer Service or the dealer is acknowledging there is a problem other than to say that I have a one-off CV boot failure on the driver's side for which there is a backlog for parts.

According to both Jeep and my dealer, they are not aware of any other Jeep owners with similar issues/problems and believe my passenger side CV is perfectly fine.

Re: Grease In Both Front Wheels... Normal?

Well i guess im not the only one with this problem.

I just sent my new Grand Cherokee into the shop. Less than 200 miles and the CV boot Failed! Its now in the shop over memorial day weekend. UGH! I believe it was built in March 2014. Shame!

Re: Grease In Both Front Wheels... Normal?

Update: Part finally came in and I had the front passenger axle shaft replaced yesterday. Nothing yet on the drivers side. My alignment is now way off. The steering wheel points 20 degrees to the right when I'm driving straight and there is a squealing sound coming from the front passenger side wheel. I am beyond pissed. It's back in service today. I just want my new Jeep to work! I bought it on the 11th with 150 miles. It's now at 700. I told chrysler I want them to buy it back or give me a new one. I know its not realistic but I need some sort of compensation. They should be calling me back today.

Re: Grease In Both Front Wheels... Normal?

saxe1125 - Definitely worth having the dealer put your GC on the lift after the repair to inspect what they did. My dealer told me they checked the alignment and did a test drive post repair. Where are you located and what dealership?

I just got it back. The alignment is fine but the wheel is just not centered and there's all kinds of torque steer. They said theyre going to get with chrysler on tuesday to see if something is wrong with the replacement axle shaft.

This is getting ridiculous. It's Darcars in silver spring

Re: Grease In Both Front Wheels... Normal?

^^^^^^^

So they replaced the half axle and they didn't do a test drive afterwards (otherwise they would have noticed)....shaking my head....bad dealer bad.

Re: Grease In Both Front Wheels... Normal?

Funny story (not really). So I pull up to my in-laws in the Adirondacks in my awesome red fish-bowl and in the driveway is a white Jgc limited. My wife then throws off another wave of mockery and we walk in. My brother-in-law, who saw me pull in starts with the mockery as well and has a hearty laugh at the piece of shit that is my dodge caravan. I asked him the build date and walk him out to his beautiful new white JGC limited to show him first hand that his 2 front wheels are covered in grease.

Looks like we're a 2 minivan family now.
