Chrysler doesn't want ANY of that vendor's axles from that build date range in the vehicles weather they've already been replaced or not....

What's the build date range again? Thanks!

Re: Grease In Both Front Wheels... Normal?

I fall within that date range and had one axle replaced within 500 miles. This was before any of the TSBs so only the failed axle was replaced. The other has held fine so far for 20,000 miles. I haven't received any notice about the new campaign but I'll raise it with the dealer if I don't hear anything by my next oil change this winter.

Again, IF you've had this repair done already, the parts used HAVE BEEN RECALLED!

OK - That statement is clear as mud. Are you saying the REPAIR parts have been recalled too or are you simply saying the ORIGINAL factory installed parts were recalled.

Wasn't my post of course but actually its both pools of parts. If your VIN is in the date range and your front half shafts r not the new part #'s from the new supplier in the RRT regardless of factory or previously replaced then you have a part FCA doesn't want on your rig.

Whether u get the new part installed now, later or never is your call but since the mfr changed vendor and says the old part needs replaced I would get new ones eventually, but thats me.

Re: Grease In Both Front Wheels... Normal?

I'll have to look as mine was replaced pretty early on in this problem part cycle. Could be the parts that need to be replaced again...argh.

What makes you think the part is from a new supplier?

All the axles are being recalled, factory originals, AND the replacement ones
The new ones from new vendor have not arrived yet.

ALL axles done before the parts lock down 10/13/14 will need to be replaced!

So I just read the csn again and I don't see where it says the shafts are from a new vendor? Maybe I'm missing it, but I was just wondering whats leads you to believe that? It seems like there was some type of manufacturing problem for that one month so they want to make sure they all get replaced, but I don't see where it says they are from a new supplier.

Re: Grease In Both Front Wheels... Normal?

I already had these axles replaced twice. Once when they failed at 300 miles and again at 3000 miles during my first oil change (they said they were reengineered even though it was the same part number and my replacement axles were fine).

If they replace them a third time, I'll be pretty ticked off, especially since The last two times they replaced them, they screwed other things up. The first time they didn't put the brake disc on correctly and it was loose making sounds and the second time they damaged the drive shaft seal and it was leaking.
