Has anyone had their fuel pump go out right after having the fuel pump relay recall done?

Dealer wanted $2000 to replace fuel pump and I threw a fit. I contacted Jeep Customer Care and they talked with Dealer who in turn charged me $250 to replace out of good faith. I told them that Jeep should take care of the whole bill but I was told that if they give me a discount that I am not entitled to get a deviation to their decision.

Pretty crappy that a bad fuel pump relay connection in the TIPM module will end up costing you more to repair. It's bad enough that Jeep takes the cheap way out and by passes the TIPM module connections and adds an external relay by cutting the wiring harness. This should not be happening!

Mine is just starting to die, 9 months after the fuel pump relay was done and 1 month out of warranty. Dealer wants $750 to repair (including labor). I suspect the fuel pump was weakened in between the time the TIPM started failing and the time the recall was performed. Not too happy about this or relay solution for that matter. Cheap band-aid fix.

Hi damazeen,

Do you have a case open with our Customer Care team to go over any options you might have in regards to the repair? While I can't promise a different outcome, if you don't have one, we can at least address it for you!

I just found your post and was wondering how its been running ??

Heres my situation :

Well here we go again , Jeep wouldn't start cranked but acted like it had no fuel , Fuel relay recall had already been done , towed to the dealer and after the dealer having it for 4 days they could not duplicate the problem again ! (not starting) They told me that they checked everything and the Jeep starts up every time so after 4 days I picked it up drove it about 10 miles it sat for about 2 hrs and the Jeep would't start again!!!
So after about 10 mins of trying the Jeep finally did start and back to the dealer I went And again they found no problems !! Called Jeep Customer Service center and filed a complaint because they wont change the TIPM knowing theres a major problem with these !!!
waiting on a call on Monday and will keep you guys posted!

till then Im gonna drive my WK2 till it completely dies

if anyone else has had this problem after you had the fuel pump recall please fill me it

thanks again !!
