Harsh 1-2 shift at Parking lot speeds in 2015 Overland

The vehicle has developed a harsh 1-2 shift when driving in speeds of 6-8 mph. It started happening around 3,000 miles on the odometer and continues with 4300 mi. This happens mainly when I am driving in parking lot or in stop-in-go traffic. It's more pronounced after a cold-start (8 hours in parking lot) in non-Eco mode and lessens slightly after warming up.

I haven't taken it in yet since this scenario is not frequent. I could find any related TSBs for the 2015 model year. I plan on notifying the dealer during my first oil change.

Year: 2015
Build date: 10/01/2014
Engine: V6

I have the same issue. Has been that way since new and sounds like a loud thunk when it shifts. It is a shame. I really want to love the car but so many issues. Now have 28k on it 1.5 years into ownership. Trans issues, hot house temp issues and now lately the voice rec won't work to find songs ipon my iPod. First American car in 18 years and can't report I will stay American.

Did you notify your dealer? If so, what was their reply for not being able to fix the issue?

I took my jeep to three dealers for the hot cabin issue with the hvac and took it to two to fix the bearing/hub issue where the first told me the vibration was normal. I complained about the trans early on and gave up. Done with living at the jeep dealer. Car looks sharp outside and in but way too many things do not work right.

exact same issue. 2014 GC limited. was fine until about 3000 miles, then only after a cold start (sits over night or while im at work) revs up to 3000 in first before shifting, and im barely on the pedal. then 2-3 and 3-4 randomly shift hard. Not as had as the 1-2 when first starting up. have 4400 on it now, and still has issue. going on vacation in a 6 weeks, so im just gonna leave it with them while im gone. Also needs a rear cargo area ouside window seal. it shrunk, and split. need to take window out to replace it.

Re: Harsh 1-2 shift at Parking lot speeds in 2015 Overland

There are a bajillion threads out here on this problem...

Sounds like all of you are candidates for the Transmission Adaptive Relearn procedure.

http://wk2jeeps.com/tsb/tsb_wk2_2101214b.pdf

Note: It may take 200-300 miles of driving after this procedure for the shifting to smooth out. I had harsh 2-1 downshifts and 2-3 upshifts. The harsh 2-3 upshift immediately disappeared after the procedure but it took about 300 miles of driving for the harsh 2-1 downshifts to disappear.

That was almost 4000 miles ago and my trans is still shifting beautifully.

If your dealer hasn't performed this on your initial complaint to them about the problem then you may want to consider going to a different dealer. This problem has been around since early in the 14 model year. None of them should be unaware of this TSB after all this time.
