I had my shaft replaced yesterday. The dealer kept insisting "We cant replicate the problem". Even though I insisted the car MUST BE HOT. I handed them the TSB and they told me the TSB pertained only to Euro models. I laughed and told them if they didn't put the shaft thing in my car I was going to DESTROY them when i get my Jeep survey.
Picked the car up after work yesterday with new shaft installed and it feels like it is new again. I am getting sick to death of these dealerships and their LAZY ASS attitudes.
Would members who had the intermediate shaft replaced tell us if that cured the problem completely or has the "thud" feeling returned, especially when braking slow or over small road bumps.
Yes it did. But now I have given that GC in trade in for another car.
I got tired of waiting on the rear shock mounts and I took twice the car for the sterring bump and they said they did not experince that in the test drive. What kind of Bull!!!!
Finally after many visits to dealerships, I got a new shaft installed today. Didn't drive much yet but so far there hasn't been any thumps. This time the new shaft has a colored dot on the edge of the label as shown in the TSB, the previous two didn't. Fingers crossed it works this time!
