Have the 2014+ 5.7's shifting improved with latest flash?

Reading through some threads it sounds like the 5.7 also had shift issues with the 8spd Trans . With the latest flash has it been better?

Thanks

Re: Have the 2014+ 5.7's shifting improved with latest flash?

I don't recall many/any people complaining about transmission issues on the 8HP70 used in the V8s and Diesels. I know our transmission has been smooth and faultless in the 12k we've owned it. The 845RE used in the V6 seems to have more issues. I think there may have been some issues on the earlier '11-'13 WK2s, but the not on the V8 and Diesel eight speeds that I recall.

Do you have one that is shifting poorly, or are you just testing the waters?

+1 - very few complaints about the 5.7 + 8 speed. Mine shifted flawlessly over 15k miles.

Thanks. Just testing the waters as I thought I read some also had the harsh downshifts

I have not only had no problems in the past 300 mi (2015 overland v8--picked it up Saturday!!), I have been extremely impressed with how crisply the shifts pop off, both with the paddles and in full auto. It is a really nice transmission.

Re: Have the 2014+ 5.7's shifting improved with latest flash?

I had issues, but under rare circumstances. First was when driving at 35 and enter a school zone at 25 the transmission didn't want to downshift and caused a slight fluttering/shuttering in eco mode. Once it decided to downshift, it was fine. Had the first tsb flash back in may or june and it seemed to fix it.

The second occurrence was worse, this was after the first update was done. Driving at about 65mph on a slight uphill in traffic I was feathering the throttle to maintain speed it shuttered and a hard downshift happened which resulted in a thump in the transmission. It reacted fine for the next month and when I went in for an oil change, I mentioned it so they flashed it with the most recent update. Don't know if it changed anything yet. Still feels fine, so whatever, I guess.
