Head replacement 3.6L Pentastar (both sides)
I have had my 2011 WK2 for about 3 months, and while leaving work it shuddered, then died. When I turned the switch back on, the CEL light was then illuminated (after it died). The CEL had never been on before. The dealer pulled the codes, and it was the common #2 cylinder misfire, so they replaced the head under warranty. After they fixed the left side, they said that #3 and #5 are down on the other side, and it will be $2400 to replace the right head, since that side was not covered by warranty.
They explained to me that there was no way that this was a Chrysler failure, so it would not be covered. I'm no mechanic, but I'm pretty sure the other half of the motor, made by the same people, is probably similar to the other side. Also, they said I was probably running on 5 cylinders (with #2 down) for quite some time, and the truck only died because #3 and #5 failed, thus only running on 3 cylinders. Could running on 5 cylinders for continued use cause others to fail?
This same dealer looked at me like I had 3 heads when I was confused that they did not provide loaner vehicles or comped rental cars... I just feel like I'm getting rail-roaded here. Any information or advice is greatly appreciated.
ETA - The Jeep has 106,000 on the clock, so is just outside the normal 5yr/100k powertrain warranty.
