My auto headlights functionality has been getting worse and worse. Got so bad that I'm taking it in this evening. Will let you know what the dealership says

Re: Headlights in AUTO mode bouncing on and off

I have noticed when I back out of my garage and down my 25' driveway at 3pm the headlights stay until I get into the street. This causes the screen to be dim making it hard to see the rearview camera screen in daylight. When I had my 2011 the headlights would turn off almost immediately after backing out of the garage.

Why is the Quote Font is White on White (while composing a reply) Ugh.

Yeah that's exactly what I'm getting.

I've been dialing up the night brightness more and more.

Turns out in night mode it uses Dark Colors so it can be set just as bright at night as day and still not be blinding at night.

Wondering if the sensor was easy to replace or did they have to take things apart to get to it and replace?

I'm not sure. They had to order the part so the jeep was in over night

Same issue, bad sensor. Took them less than 30 minutes. The new one worked fine for about 2 week and then it started acting up again. Taking it in Saturday again. Guessing I have another bad one... if not, then there is an underlying issue.

That's one to many bad sensors. Beginning to think the little dome cover is too dark and is affecting the remote sensor. Almost said 'under the dome' but that wold be Stephen King and I am not about to call my JGC Christine!!

Was told the ac/heating control is tied to auto headlights sensor too. Faulty control and they are ordering me a new one.

They replaced the sensor. Even before I left the dealer the problem was back. They are going to open a STAR case on it with Chrysler.

Has anyone tried drilling a very small hole on the dome to see if it resolves the issue? More light in = less false reading? Just a tought.
