They are vented headlight housings, they will have moisture in them under certain conditions...

My favorite part is when the HALOs short out from the 'normal' moisture.

I can see defects once... I'm on my third set.

Bear in mind, this means Chrysler has dropped $12k just in headlights alone on my vehicle.

Standing water is obviously different than some moisture...

80% of the housing filling with moisture is different than 'some' moisture.

In case you can't tell, I don't recommend them.

This is what Chrysler would charge us, their cost for 3 is most likely under $500. Still 3rd set is just ridiculous.

Re: Headlights in AUTO mode bouncing on and off

No update on the headlights as we are awaiting the tech to come to the dealership and check out the issue in person. Supposed to have called today to get that scheduled.

I can only comment on what I read in a post... Had I known standing water and 80% moisture I would not have said normal in my first post.

They might find out things before Chrysler tells them and be a step ahead of troubleshooting some of these issues.

As soon as I get an appointment with the factory tech I will update. The rain sensor is suppose to be the one that controls the sensitivity of the rest of the headlight sensors. All of mine have been changed, so there has to be something else. Just frustrating!!!
As we say at work "F.A.D." Functions As Designed.

You are more likely to break something else while the dealer tries to "fix" it.

All dealers do, is replace parts and update firmware. They don't design fixes. They just execute them as directed from Jeep.

Since most everyone has the problem, it's obviously a design problem.

Until they issues a TSB, I'd stop having them perform trial and error on your Jeep. I think this is often how people end up with "Lemons".

I do appreciate your raising their awareness though

Mother nature fixed mine. I leave work after dark now, hasn't been a problem now for a few weeks.

Re: Headlights in AUTO mode bouncing on and off

My WJ was better in a some ways two of which were the auto headlights not coming on until dusk and the remaining fuel calculation not switching to "Low" when approaching empty.

Even though the remaining miles was not accurate it was consistent so I always knew how much farther I could go. Just another example of dumbing down to avoid complaints and litigation IMO.
