Re: Headlights indicator is getting on my nerves...

So is that the low beam indicator or the fog light indicator ( why would there need to be a low beam indicator)

I agree with the tint idea... I am sure the bulb is actually an LED

It is the low beam. Fog indicator is separate

From what I read that is the "parking light" indicator which would also be on when headlights are on as the op experienced. And yes it probably is LED based on the brightness.

According to the jeep iPhone app it is " an indicator of whether position or headlights are currently on"

Whatver was saying that the bulb might be removable -- if so you could also replace it with a lower wattage, LED or not.

Re: Headlights indicator is getting on my nerves...

correct - it's on whenever the sensor determines that the headlights(not DRL) should be on ( which is pretty sensitive and turns on the low beams pretty quickly IMO).

there is a separate indicator for both fog lights and high beams.....and they are equally bright..

Re: Headlights indicator is getting on my nerves...

Yup it is annoying. They put it there since some of the models have DRL's and I guess people would forget to turn on their lights being they have some light shining on the road from those.

Re: Headlights indicator is getting on my nerves...

maybe asmall piece of window tint would tone it down enough and nothing permanent.

It is on whenever your lights are on - whether you turned them on manually or if they are on auto and they turned on themselves.

Re: Headlights indicator is getting on my nerves...

Hmm, i'm thinking the Window tint is the best option, a circular piece would do just fine and wouldn't be too noticeble in daylight. Hopefully it's not too hard to get at the gauge face!
