Re: Headlights too bright?

Hate to dig up an old thread, but need some help. We picked up our 2011 Overland yesterday. Just got back from dinner (first time out at night) and was flashed by virtually every car we approached. I just kept flashing them back to let them know I wasn't using the highs, but I worry this could become a real issue. I am especially worried about my wife driving at night and some road rage a**hole out there.

When I got back to my neighborhood, I switched into sport mode and noticed the lights we aimed much better lower which seemed to help a lot. Does this indicate my auto leveling isn't working? Or how can I confirm it is? We are taking it back to the dealer this week to have some pin stripes removed and I was ask them about it as well.

Thanks!!!

I have not not noticed them moving when starting, but haven't really watched for it either. I will take a look tomorrow. I assume if they don't then the auto leveling is one working?

Thanks again!

Re: Headlights too bright?

I have been having this issue with my OEM HID's. Mine do go up then down at start. Do they have an adjustment?

Re: Headlights too bright?

Yes they are adjustable, someone posted photos around here recently but I can't find it ..

Open the hood, find a slot in the black metal/plastic above an to the rear of the headlight and shine a flashlight down the slot and you should see an adjustment screw head 6 or 7 inches down behind the headlight.

Wait up, I don't think mine do when my car starts. What package does that come with?

Sorry Scott I wasn't clear. I know that part is normal, I think that mine are aimed to high.
