Headliner positioning adjustment?

Is it possible to adjust the position of the headliner?

Shortly after buying my Jeep, I found a gap between the headliner and the base of the map light cluster. I pointed it out to my dealer. They attempted to fix it by re-setting the map light cluster, but there wasn't an improvement. I was concerned any other fix might be worse with than the problem so I let it be after that.

Today, I noticed a gap around the mount for passenger side sun visor. Both the sun visor gap, and the map light cluster gap were located behind the components, which makes me think maybe the whole headliner is located a quarter of an inch or so behind where it should be.

Thoughts?

Re: Headliner positioning adjustment?

I have a similar problem, where I can just see the edge of the headliner fabric showing at the rear of the overhead map light console.
The foam edge of the headliner is right there and just about visible and had the fabric been just an 1/8" longer, I might have not notice anything.

I riffed on the console and moved it just enough to fix the problem, but shortly later it moved back.

Now I had the Vanity light wiring recall done, and thought since they had to pull the headliner down a bit and pull the overhead console off and reinstall, that might have fixed it....no change at all.

Shop foreman told me they had a new Durango in with the same problem.
Chrysler tech told him to send it to an upholstery shop, where they removed the overhead console, loosened the fabric and stretched it.
I wasn't liking that idea at all, but he said the Durango customer was real fussy and seem to like the repair once he saw it.

I meant to stop by that upholstery shop and have them explain exactly what is done, but never got around to it.
