Heated seats cooling off

Now that it's getting colder here in MI I've been using the heated seats more often. I've noticed that when they are on high they'll feel quite warm for about the first 10 minutes then they cool off. The button is still set on high. If I turn them off, then immediately turn it back on high I can feel it heating back up to the much warmer temperature. Anyone else notice this?

Yes: I do notice this on my JGC.

I don't bother turning the seats off and then back on again - because the idea is that the heater will warm the seat for you, and then your body will keep the seat warm.

I am not sure if that is an intentional function of the seat heaters...

Re: Heated seats cooling off

From the owners manual:

When the HIGH-level setting is selected, the heater will
provide a boosted heat level during the first four minutes
of operation. Then, the heat output will drop to the
normal HIGH-level. If the HIGH-level setting is selected,
the system will automatically switch to LOW-level after a
maximum of 50 minutes of continuous operation. At that
time, the number of illuminated LEDs changes from two
to one, indicating the change. The LOW-level setting will
turn OFF automatically after a maximum of 45 minutes.

How high does it heat up in the backrest? On my Jeep, it does not go high enough to cover my back.

Not high enough up the back or far enough on my thighs in my opinion. I wish my GJC was more like mY wife's Infiniti. It heats about 8" higher up the back and about 6" further under the thigh.
