Heated Seats - How Warm?

Two weeks ago, I bought a JGC Limited and it has heated seats. The seats do seem to be slightly warm, but I can barely feel them through normal clothing. My wife's Subaru has heated seats that get quite warm, and are very noticeable through winter clothing.

I would like to know from others, just how warm are these heated seats supposed to get? Is slightly warm normal?

Re: Heated Seats - How Warm?

It's been covered on here a few times. They arent the 'hottest' heated seats I've sat in but I still move it down from the high setting after 5 mins when the small of my back starts getting hot.

Re: Heated Seats - How Warm?

The heating pad area is small. Mine get uncomfortably hot quickly when wearing thin clothes, takes maybe 30 minutes wearing heavy winter garments.

Re: Heated Seats - How Warm?

It sounds like my heated seats are in the normal range. I am in a cold area and wearing winter clothing. The seats take the chill off of the leather, but as mentioned, the heated area seems small. Smaller than my wife's Subaru Outback, and they don't get has hot. I just got it, and haven't taken it on a long drive yet. Perhaps when they are on for 45-60 minutes I will feel the heat.

Re: Heated Seats - How Warm?

Just found out from a colleague in the fur business that a quick way to ruin a (genuine) fur coat is to wear it on a heated seat. Seems he's doing an increased business in dried-out and separating coats because of the widespread use of heated seats.

Doesn't seem to be hurting my L.L. Bean parka, tho.

Re: Heated Seats - How Warm?

I agree with some of the above comments regarding small heated area and not getting hot enough. My WJ Limited had more comfort on a cold morning.

Re: Heated Seats - How Warm?

Yeah, Jeep's heated seats are not hot enough. Both my Porsche's seats get hot and cover all the seating area... from thighs to top of the back. Jeep's heated seat only covers a very small area.

Mine are plenty warm enough...I usually turn it to low after about 5 minutes.
